Biography
Antoni Oliver Tomàs (Palma, 1990) is an Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (DMI) of the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB). Technical degree in Computer Management Engineering (2011), degree in Computer Engineering (2015) and Master in Computer Engineering (2017) by the UIB, achieved the degree of Doctor in Information and Communication Technologies (2022) also by the Universitat de les Illes Balears with the PhD thesis Analysis of user behavior with different interfaces in 360-degree videos and virtual reality.
His research is focused in the multimedia, applied to interactive television, virtual reality and 360-degree videos. He has been involved with the research group on Multimedia Information Technologies (TIM) and the Multimedia Information Technologies Laboratory (LTIM) since 2011, taking part in several research projects that have resulted in publications in journals and communications in international congresses. Also related with the LTIM, he has helped in the organization of the last Congresses of Interactive Digital Television.
During the course 2017-18 he joined the DMI as a lecturer thanks to a predoctoral contract, imparting the subject Programming I in the Degree in Computer Engineering. The following year, he taught the same subject in the Degree in Telematics Engineering under the position of assistant lecturer. He also has directed a dozen of end-of-degree projects and has been involved in several teaching innovation projects.
