Multimedia Information Technologies Laboratory

The Multimedia Information Technologies Laboratory (Laboratori de Tecnologies de la Informació Multimèdia, LTIM), in the University of the Balearic Islands (Universitat de les Illes Balears, UIB) is the leading organization in multimedia and interactive applications of the Balearic Islands.

The laboratory provides support to students, teachers and researchers of the UIB as well as to developers so as to transfer knowledge from the University to the society.

As a consequence of its activity over 25 years, the Multimedia Information Technologies research group has published many research papers and has been involved in the development of dozens of R&D projects (both privately and publicly funded).

  • Mac museum (2018) is a VR application that shows the old Macintosh computers used in the department.
  • Proem-aid (2017) is an interactive 360º video experience built upon the traumatic footage recorded in the refugee camps in Greece.
