The UIB-organized event Ciència per a tothom (Science for everyone) aims to promote scientific and technical concern among the youth using experiments.
The LTIM installed a booth showcasing the project Mac museum, a virtual reality application in which the users are able to visit a virtual museum containing the Macintosh computers used in the department over the last 30 years.
The application, which is publicly available on the Internet through the address http://ltim.uib.es/mac, can be played using many devices, including a regular computer but also –and this is what is interesting– virtual reality gear, such as the Oculus Rift or a smartphone inside a device that turns it into a virtual reality player, such as Google’s Cardboard.
The students that attended the event enjoyed the experience and showed interest in the technical details of the system, resulting in an unvaluable source of feedback.
